VIOLENTI CONFINI

The text collects a selection of twenty-one works by contemporary artists, which since 1970 have interpreted and explored the idea of the border from a series of transversal points of view.
The volume, which was published on the occasion of the homonymous exhibition by Magonza editore held at the Municipal Art Gallery in Città di Castello (29th April – 9th July 2017), is articulated in different sections and looks carefully at dramatic current event and proposes a reflection on the relationship between the self and the world, re-elaborating the concept of border and limit not only from a geographical point of view, but also from a political, social, human and biographical one, with a strong attention to the past.
In the catalogue there are critical contributions of Pietro Bellasi, Alberto Fiz and Saverio Verini, a section dedicated to the works and artists, and an iconographic apparatus of the works on display.
