NICOLA CARRINO. PROGETTO CAMUSAC. RECONSTRUCTING CITY. IRON. STAINLESS STEEL. COSTRUTTIVI. DECOSTRUTTIVI. RICOSTRUTTIVI. 1959. 2016.
The catalogue, ideated and created by Nicola Carrino on the occasion of the anthological exhibition curated by Bruno Corà inside the CAMUSAC (15th May – 30th September 2016), traces the origins of the author’s artistic career starting from the 1959-60 with the “Realtà”, reaching the Sixties and the Seventies with his “Costruttivi”, and ending in the present with new “Costruttivi Trasformabili”, “Decostruttivi” and “Ricostruttivi”. The artist designs a site specific set up inside the CAMUSAC structuring a dialectical space that puts the object in relation with the modules of which it is composed and the contingency of the location. «Carrino is a master whose work has marked, and continues to mark, one of the most important italian and european artistic research guideline» (Corà). He reconsidered the sculpture and the architectural design in a urban, aesthetic and ethic, and participative and didactic tone, which is always in constant flux. Together with a writing specifically composed by Carrino, an abundant collection of photographs, a section dedicated to the book catalogue card and a critical essay by Bruno Corà complete the book.
«Sculpting is about trasforming, an indispensable tool for the continuum of occupying and sizing the space» (Nicola Carrino).
