LETTERE A LUISA
Lettere a Luisa is the first publication of a correrespondence between Claudio Parmiggiani and his friend Luisa Laureati Briganti over a period of ten years(2001- 2014); it is quantitatively small but of extraordinary density and intensity, and the absence Luisa’s voice helps to intensify her role as a witness.
Tracing the artist’s inspiration, signs of an inexhaustible and exclusive relationship with solitude (vital form of denial) were found, which seems to be the the real smith of the existential feature the letters testify. Among our artists, Parmiggiani is perhaps the one who writes the most, and therefore does not break his rule of silence. It is a tenacious pronouncement in defense of a visionary art, to which all of his work aims at, and which finds its essential basis in poetry and in the radical nature of the language. His aspiration was to dedicate his life serving art as metaphysical activity of existence. «Striving for the dreams, serving the spirit» (Claudio Parmiggiani).
