The volume allows us to understand Giulio Ceppi’s profound poetics through an open, fluid and unpredictable vision of the relationships between art and fashion.
Giulio Ceppi’s works consist of collages integrating distant worlds, past and present like an assembly of signs, codes, languages each time created in a new and different synthesis. In this physical or untouchable, mnemonic or real and figurative or abstract process, which is an unknown and uncertain reassembly, the fragment transforms itself into protagonist.
“When I was a child I would have loved to be an archeologist, so that I would have been able to rebuilt a world with just a fragment. Indeed, decomposition, composition and re-composition are parts of a single action, maybe a universal one. Whether an object, an image or an architecture, the fragment is not a detail, but a possible starting point of a story”.
