BARRY X BALL. MEDARDO ROSSO PROJECT

Ball ‘reinvents and almost revives’ a number of Medardo Rosso’s masterpieces, conserved in highly prestigious Italian collections. To do so, Ball used translucent and evocative precious materials, such as golden calcite, pink and white Iranian onyx and Mexican white onyx, which maintain the original works’ mysterious energetic charge. The catalogue was published for the exhibition at Ca’ Pesaro, Venice, curated by Elisabetta Barisoni in collaboration with Studio Barry X Ball, New York, and with Fergus McCaffrey Gallery (10 May–22 September 2019).
